Capital Campaign 2010 is currently underway. We have begun the work on the building, the campaign is moving forward. Repairs to the roof, sanctuary dome, and organ are the focus of this campaign to preserve and protect our historic church building for the next generation of faithful disciples to use in their work of mission service. We appreciate all who have given of their time and resources towards this project.
Candlelight Dinner - February 12, 2010. Entrees for this year's candlelight dinning extravaganza are Cheddar cheese Pecan Rolled Flank Steak or Roast Pork Tenderloin with Apricot Sauce. Your choice of main dish will be served with garden salad, garlic roasted potato wedges, fresh green beans, and dessert. Cost per ticket is $13.95 and seating is limited to 60 people. It's an elegant and delightful evening not to be missed as Memorial Parlor is transformed for this event. This is a fundraiser for our youth and is sponsored by our Christian Education Committee.
The Lenten Season commences with our traditional Ash Wednesday dinner and communion in Fellowship Hall. The Worship Committee will provide the meat and rolls, members of the congregation are asked to bring their own table service and a dish to share. A communion service follows the meal.
Community Lenten Services are scheduled at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday evenings as follows:
- February 23 at First United Methodist Church
- March 2 at First Lutheran Church
- March 9 at First Presbyterian Church
- March 16 at Holy Redeemer Church and
- March 23 at Grace United Methodist Church
- The Thursday Maundy Thursday Service will be celebrated on April 1 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
Souper Bowl Sunday - February 7, 2010 - Our young people will again be participating in this nation-wide campaign to help alleviate hunger. Proceeds from this collection will benefit our own Sharing Place Program which in combination with five other local churches, provide a free meal to all who attend on Thursday evenings from 4:30 until 5:30 P.M.
Camping Opportunities - If you have a young person interested in church camp this summer, we are requesting you take advantage of the early bird discount offered by most camps. Details regarding the church's scholarship policy are available through the Christian Education office.
Mission Month will be celebrated in April and will again include our much enjoyed and much anticipated "Broadway Night" Talent Show. Watch for more details as they become available.
