The Sharing Place
A Free Nutritious Meal
Served Every Thursday Evening
between 4:30 and 5:30 P.M.
The Sharing Place provides a free, nutritious meal every Thursday evening, serving between the hours of 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. There are no requirements or needs to be met, just come. The program is designed to offer companionship to those who do not want to eat alone or a meal to anyone in need.
Meals are provided every Thursday evening between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Exceptions are Thanksgiving, the first Thursday in May, and the first Thursday in October when the area is used for our semi-annual rummage sales. Check our schedule for Christmas and New Years. Experience has taught us that attendance is low at this time of the year, probably due to programs that are not available at other times of the year.
The Sharing Place results from volunteer efforts of six local churches: North Warren Presbyterian, Grace United Methodist Church, First Lutheran Church, Calvary Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, and First Presbyterian Church. Groups from each church rotate to serve as early persons, those who come in and help set tables, etc., and other volunteers who come in to serve the meals to our clients, bus tables, and return the kitchen to good order. There are also Kitchen Helpers who are volunteers that come in early and help the cook to prepare the meal.
